Meet Rubble Tile: Stylish Tile for All Spaces

Choosing the perfect tile for a space is a critical piece of the design process. Shape, sheen, material, color, and pattern are just a few of the elements to consider when making the right selections. Rubble Tile is a local, woman-owned business that has served this community for over 90 years. With humble beginnings as a modest stone yard, Rubble is now a trend-forward authority in the local industry offering distinct, high-quality products for customers throughout the Upper Midwest. Showroom Manager, Donna Tasto, discusses the ethos of Rubble Tile and dives into their involvement with the Pillsbury Castle Project below.

Known for their comprehensive product line spanning a range of price points, Rubble Tile has it all, “We carry everything from classic subway and ceramic wall tiles to porcelains manufactured with the latest cutting and printing technologies, as well as representing several domestic custom lines,” Tasto says. From natural stone to porcelain, ceramic, glass, and metal mosaic tiles, Rubble Tile has earned a reputation for its commitment to excellence as a distributor of tile.

While they have experience transforming spaces like private residences, restaurants, and even spa facilities, Tasto states "We love working on classic baths as much as truly unique custom fireplaces.” Throughout their work, they feature exclusive lines from around the world including custom hand-crafted tiles made in the USA to the most technologically advanced porcelains from Europe.

With a strong focus on community building, Rubble Tile is a natural fit for the Pillsbury Castle Project and the ASID Design Home 2024 in Collaboration with NARI. As a sponsor of the project, Rubble Tile is providing tiles for the second floor of the home, aligning its products with the unique historical elements of the Pillsbury Castle.  "We offer product lines with classic coordinating pieces to fit the era of the project," states Tasto, highlighting the company's dedication to integrating its style with the home's historical context. By contributing tiles for the Primary Suite, Kids Bathroom, Laundry Room, and Guest Bedroom 1 and Bathroom, Rubble Tile is playing a pivotal role in enhancing the aesthetic and functionality of these spaces. Tasto goes on to say that their team is most excited to see how the designers incorporate their pieces into the designs.

Excitement at The Castle is brewing as tile installation is underway. Each of the rooms is coming to life with the help of talented partners like Rubble Tile. Their high-quality and stylish designs will live on in the home as a testament to modern design fusing with historic architecture.
