You are now making your way into the first of three guest suites. Heidi Dockter, Allied ASID, Marie Meko, Allied ASID, and Karena Monahan, Allied ASID, of Gabberts Design Studio collaborated on Guest Bedroom 1 to create a cozy haven for guests. Intricate remodeling work was completed by Quality Cut Design Remodel.

Designers were given the freedom to create a more feminine and elegant feel than the rest of the home. They achieved this by using a palette of neutral grays with pops of gold, resulting in a soothing and relaxing ambiance for guests. The room features modern classic furnishings, carefully selected artwork, a hand-painted ceiling by Laura Margo Murals & Custom Art, and plush bedding, all contributing to an oasis of luxury and sophistication.

A sweet sitting area for two, with comfortable chairs and a small table, offers the perfect spot for a quiet conversation or a morning cup of coffee. Thoughtful touches, like soft lighting, a textured rug from INTERSOURCE by STARK, and decorative pillows add to the overall sense of opulence and comfort. The result is a guest suite that combines charm with comfort, providing a serene retreat that feels both inviting and luxurious.

On the remodeling side, original millwork profiles were crafted to match existing woodwork, and two cased openings with seven-part head casings were meticulously recreated. A feature fireplace wall was constructed, housing a newly installed gas fireplace, and an antique marble mantle from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City was carefully added to infuse a touch of historical elegance.

In the Guest Bathroom, construction involved combining a sink basin alcove and an existing closet to create a wardrobe area with built-in cabinets. The entrance to a previous exterior bath was relocated to create an en suite bathroom featuring tile wainscoting, a shower, and a water closet. The original 1903 porcelain sink from Eleanor’s bathroom was salvaged and incorporated into the design, and in-floor heating was installed for guests’ comfort. 22 System By Bocci outlets blend seamlessly with the hand-made tiles.

These rooms were made possible by the contributions of Twin Cities Closet Company, Visual Comfort & Co, Ferguson, Stone Source, Rubble Tile, INTERSOURCE by STARK, Total Window Design, Hunter Douglas, Cutting Edge, Sherwin Williams, 22 System By Bocci, Northstar Home Technologies, Bayer Built, Twin City Fireplace, Laura Margo Murals and Custom Art, Sanderson, American Glass, and Schluter Systems.

On your way out, don’t miss the gift wrapping closet designed by Mike Rataczak Studios.
